Initial Contact and First Session
Initial Phone Consultation. After you reach out via email or phone call, we will schedule an initial phone consultation where we will assess whether it will be a good fit. I will ask you about what's bringing you to therapy at this time and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. If you've been in therapy before, I will want to know what has worked well for you and what hasn't worked for you in the past. We will also do a risk assessment to see if you are a good fit for outpatient care. This is also your chance to get a sense of me, how I work, and how we vibe. It's important to find a therapist who feels like a good fit, so I welcome any and all questions you may have.
First Session. During our first session, we will discuss in greater detail what you want for yourself out of therapy. I will also invite you to share with me what you think is important for me to know about you. I may ask you questions about your past so that I can get a greater understanding of who you are, where you come from, and what's important to you. I welcome you to share openly with me about how you're feeling about our relationship and our work together.

FeesMy current fee is a sliding scale between $185 and $225 for a 50 minute session.
Whether initially or sometime during treatment you are unable to pay for the full fee, we can try to negotiate a fee reduction; reduced fees are subject to availability. As an out-of-network insurance provider for other insurance plans and carriers, I can provide you with a statement of services which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. In this case, most insurance companies will reimburse you directly for treatment. If you are interested in receiving reimbursement you may want to call your insurance company and ask the following questions:
I accept credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards (so you can use pre-tax income). If you need a lower fee, here is a resource list of low fee clinics in San Francisco. |
