I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating the life transition of parenthood. Becoming a parent is a deeply meaningful and significant experience that brings up complex issues related to changes in identity, cultural expectations, experiences of loss, family of origin dynamics, and more. Strategies and dynamics that used to work for us individually and in relationships may not be sustainable anymore as our capacities are stretched to include a child in our lives.
I offer a warm and collaborative space that is responsive to your family's values and needs. We will address your current concerns as well as underlying patterns and structures that got you here in the first place. I draw on my professional experiences as a child and family therapist and early childhood mental health consultant as well as my own personal experiences as a mother to a biracial / bicultural child in San Francisco. I use a social justice lens and carefully attend to issues of power, oppression, and privilege as they show up your relationships and my relationship with you. I enjoy working with families in non-traditional structures such as polycules, chosen families, and intentional co-parenting communities. I welcome families of all configurations to be as they are in all their diversity and complexity. You can email me at therapy@junelin.com or give me a call at 415-570-8603. |
